Every year Pacifica Institute organizes a Turkish Language and Performing Arts Contest. Students from all across the US compete in categories as varied as song, poem, sketch and folk dance.
Turkish Language and Performing Arts Contest Finals - 2009
There were around 160 students who competed to be in the finals in five categories, songs, poetry, folk dances, special talents and sketches. Some students also competed in the skills and grammer of Turkish Language and essay writing. The preliminary rounds were held at Pacifica Institute Irvine from 11:00am to 7:00pm. Next day in Irvine Barclay Theater was the finals for the second Turkish Contest in the Western States of America. There were 80 students who had their picture taken on stage before they competed and wished each other good luck.
